:: A week old! ::

Harry is a week old! He's doing great! Just wanted to share a few more pictures. Harry had a few "firsts" this week. He had his first sponge bath (hated that!) and first walk up to the mailbox (LOVED that!) He has his days and nights all mixed up and likes to keep us up. Everytime I get up at night I just can't stop staring at him in disbelief that this little angel is mine! I love him so much!!

:: First days at home ::

It's so good to be home with Harry. I was discharged from the hospital on Sunday around 10 AM. We weren't sure what "home" would be like, with all the pets, and new responsibilities and most of all, no nurses to help! I am very happy to report that the first days have been great with our new son. He is the BEST!

On Monday he was circumsized and did very well with that. Here he is with Dr. Bowman, his pediatrician and also the best doctor in Kanab who delivered him :-) We love Dr. B!

The dogs and cats are all great with Harry. Gandalf has accepted the role as Harry's new best friend and sits by me every time I am nursing, or changing Harrison, or anytime he is crying or fussing Gandy is right there to make sure everything is cool. He also chases the cats away. ha!

So far (knock on wood) he is doing GREAT w/ sleeping and eating routine. I've actually managed to do laundry and eat a big spaghetti dinner with a small glass of champagne to celebrate.. and still have time to blog. He's a very happy baby and smiles a lot and is very alert. I am seriously insanely in love with this guy. I have the best family. Check out some new pics!

:: Introducing Harrison Glenn Williams ::

Our little son Harry was born on Thursday night, August 2 at 7:30 PM. He weighs 7 lbs 5 oz and is 21 inches long and he's the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I love him so much and I can't even describe it.

I went in to the hospital at 8 AM on Thursday morning. I was dilated 4 cm and well on my way to having my baby in an easy, non-complicated manner... well, things changed a bit. My water was broken by Dr. Bowman around 8:30. By noon I hadn't progressed so he decided to induce my labor with IV meds. I opted for the epidural at this point (even though I had convinced myself that I could go natural... which maybe I could, but in hindsight this was the best decision I made). So, from 1:30 PM (induced) til around 5 PM I had dilated to the full 10 cm and was ready to push! I was so excited and ready (we really got to relax all afternoon since I felt no pain at all). When it came time to push, however, the doctor realized that he was positioned "sunny side up" and when coming through my pelvis he got stuck! I continued to try to push for over an hour but nothing was working to get him out. It was very very scary. The dr. tried to vacuum him out, use forceps, everything... no budging. So, around 6:30 PM I had to have an emergency c-section and Harry was born at 7:30. It was very traumatic for me, as most of you know my extreme phobia of hospitals, needles, etc. My labor went pretty much 180 degrees from how I imagined it. As I sit here typing this in my hospital bed, in lots of pain and trouble just sitting up, I look over at our son and I can't ever imagine not going through all of this for him. He is the most perfect and beautiful creation. I would do it all over in a heartbeat for him. In fact, even though it was scary and crazy, it really wasn't all that bad. I had the epidural so there was no pain. The pain came after the meds wore off.

He's doing great and is very alert and strong. He seems to recognize our voices and loves to just stare at us like he is trying to figure out what we are saying. He looks just like Steve. He has wide blue eyes and light blond hair. I can't believe how much he has stolen my heart already.

Here are a bunch of pictures. Sorry the email that got sent the other day was screwed up. Blame it on Hotmail :)
